Universal Engineering: Multi-site phone system and overhead paging

Universal Engineering Corp. is a locally owned and operated company in Cedar Rapids that manufactures equipment and parts for the aggregate and mining industries.

Universal Engineering came to Integrated Technology Partners (ITP) looking for a communications system they could depend on. They considered three different companies and ultimately determined that ITP was able to offer the most cost effective system, while still offering the flexibility to meet the specific needs of their company.

ITP provided Universal with a Nortel phone system that could handle their specific needs including multiple buildings, multiple departments, paging services, DIDs (direct inward dialing), and ACDs (allocated call distribution).  

When asked if they were satisfied with the job done by ITP, Executive Administrative Assistant in charge of Telephone Administration, Norma Rieck stated, “ITP did an excellent job installing the original system. Since our telephone system ties together a corporate office building, manufacturing facility, and shipping and receiving building, it is imperative we have a good communications system in place. When and if we need to update our current system, we would definitely continue using ITP as our communications provider.”
